Carlyn S. Williams

Carlyn Williams co-heads the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital group. She works with emerging growth companies from formation through exit and represents private investors and venture capital funds making investments across a range of industries. Her experience is particularly deep in the high technology and life sciences sectors, and includes investments in technology, biotech, medical devices and natural foods.

Carlyn also advises private equity firms and corporate clients on complex strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, equity investments, asset purchases and sales, and joint ventures. Her practice also includes public company reporting and compliance matters.

• CS Wind, a Korea-based wind tower manufacturer, in its $150-million acquisition of one of the world’s largest tower manufacturing facilities and its associated US-based business from the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S.
• Oblong Inc., maker of multi-stream collaboration solutions (Nasdaq: OBLG), in its $12.4 million registered direct offering.
• The AES Corporation in its strategic, corporate venture capital investment in Simple Energy, the leading provider of utility-branded marketplaces and customer engagement software.
• BRX Transportation Holdings, a portfolio company of Related Infrastructure, Stephens Capital and Brookhaven Rail Partners, in its acquisition of Pioneer Railcorp.

• Fleet Car Carriers in its sale to United Road Services, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group.
