From catastrophic trucking losses to brokerage contracts, Ed’s transportation practice reflects impressive breadth and notably sophisticated judgment.
Overview
Ed focuses his practice on the transportation and trucking industry. As a member of the firm’s Transportation & Logistics Service Group, he represents trucking and transportation service companies, logistics brokerage firms, associated industry operations and insurance carriers. His accident-related work spans protective investigations involving de minimis losses and rapid responses to catastrophic losses. He also handles matters involving brokerage operations, contract drafting and negotiation, and consulting services.
Ed’s practice extends to agricultural liability; environmental spills, contamination and remediation; product liability; premises liability; and wrongful death matters. He is particularly drawn to projects and novel issues that call for in-depth research.
Ed grew up working in his family’s small business in rural Indiana. Founded by his grandfather and developed further by his father and aunt, the business shaped his interest in working with clients in the transportation industry. Earlier in his legal career, he served as the Fish, Wildlife, and Water attorney at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Outside his practice, Ed is a certified Master Gardener and Master Naturalist and volunteers in his downtown Indianapolis neighborhood on preservation and stewardship efforts.
