Overview
Michael Casey Williams is a partner and trial lawyer in Bradley’s Jackson, Mississippi office. A substantial part of Michael’s practice focuses on defending manufacturers and national companies in product liability litigation, including catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims involving engineering, medical and scientific issues. He has worked on large, multijurisdictional proceedings concerning automotive, consumer and industrial products, including multidistrict litigation and one of the largest MDLs in U.S. history. His work includes coordinating defense strategy across jurisdictions, developing expert testimony, and handling summary judgment motions and Daubert challenges.
Licensed in Mississippi and Texas, Michael represents clients in complex litigation across the country. He has served as lead counsel in more than 20 jurisdictions, appears regularly in state and federal courts, and has first-chaired jury trials to verdict. Clients also bring him into high-exposure matters at critical stages, sometimes shortly before trial, to assess risk and develop a path toward trial or settlement. His broader civil litigation practice includes disputes involving fraud, breach of contract and business torts, as well as matters requiring emergency injunctive relief, temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions.
Michael’s mass tort experience forms part of his work for global manufacturers and national companies in large-scale proceedings. Across his practice, he represents clients that include national retailers, energy and utility companies, financial services platforms, law firms, closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Their businesses span the automotive, consumer products, industrial equipment, energy, technology, entertainment and professional services sectors.
In closely held company disputes, Michael advises founders, shareholders and other equity holders on conflicts over control, fiduciary duties, alleged self-dealing, misappropriation of funds, fraudulent transfers, ownership dilution and access to corporate records. He works to position those matters for negotiated separation or, where necessary, court-supervised dissolution. His practice also encompasses intellectual property, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, including disputes over trademarks, restrictive covenants and confidential information. His experience in patent and trademark prosecution informs his approach to validity challenges, enforcement risks and potential injunctive relief. He also handles regulatory proceedings.
