Overview
Philip Gunn advises clients on government relations, drawing on 20 years of experience in the Mississippi state legislature. He helps clients develop and implement legislative agendas, navigate regulatory hurdles and pursue economic development opportunities. His counsel also addresses how to engage effectively with local, state and federal officials, both in Mississippi and elsewhere.
Before joining Balch & Bingham, Philip practiced law and served in the Mississippi House of Representatives. He began his legislative service in 2004 and became the state’s 61st Speaker of the House on January 3, 2012. That experience informs his understanding of how government works and his approach to helping clients address complex problems.
