Overview
Jim is Co-Chair of Bernstein Shur’s Real Estate Practice Group. With more than two decades of experience, he represents businesses, investors, developers and financial institutions in complex commercial real estate and finance transactions, including matters that span multiple jurisdictions. His work encompasses the acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial and investment properties, as well as sale-leaseback transactions and real estate joint ventures.
Jim’s real estate practice draws on his experience in commercial finance. He advises lenders and borrowers on commercial real estate loans and asset-based lending transactions, and assists with loan workouts, restructuring and foreclosures. His clients work in industries including affordable housing, financial services, medical office and recreational campgrounds.
Jim approaches transactions with an emphasis on clear communication and practical advice aligned with clients’ business objectives. He works to make complex issues understandable, anticipate potential challenges and help clients move transactions forward.
