Overview
Maureen is a civil litigator and Co-Chair of Archer’s New Jersey Local Counsel Practice. She represents clients in complex disputes and multistate class actions involving environmental law, condemnation and eminent domain, securities law, patents, data breaches, mass torts, compliance investigations and contracts. Her work spans litigation in federal and state courts, proceedings before federal and state administrative agencies, and alternative dispute resolution.
A substantial part of Maureen’s practice involves federal litigation in the District of New Jersey. Her familiarity with its Local Rules and the procedures of its judges informs her work on complex matters, including those undertaken with out-of-state business clients. She assists at every stage of litigation, from investigations and discovery through motion practice and trial, and works with clients to develop approaches that account for their business objectives and litigation risk.
In multiparty matters, Maureen helps manage discovery and its costs, retain expert witnesses, conduct investigations and coordinate the work required to prepare motions and try cases. Her experience across different types of civil disputes allows her to address both the substantive issues in a case and the practical demands of moving it forward.
Before joining Archer, Maureen clerked for the Honorable Renée Marie Bumb of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, who now serves as Chief District Judge, and the Honorable George L. Seltzer of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division (Ret.).
