Overview
Brad Lampley advises businesses and trade associations on matters before the Tennessee General Assembly and state government. As legislative counsel, he represents clients including Philips Healthcare, Apple, the Tennessee Bar Association, Delta Dental of Tennessee and the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association. His government relations advice draws on years of experience as a corporate litigator. Chambers USA ranks Brad Band 2 nationwide for Government Relations: State & Local.
Economic development is another significant part of Brad’s practice. He advises national and multinational companies considering a move to Tennessee, including negotiating state and local incentive packages. In one matter, he acted as Tennessee counsel to a global health technology and consumer electronics company evaluating locations for a new North American center for excellence. He negotiated incentives, helped the company navigate government and public relations issues, and coordinated local strategy. The company ultimately chose Nashville for a relocation bringing more than 800 jobs to the city. It was the second major headquarters-type relocation Brad had negotiated within five years.
Brad leads Adams & Reese’s Intersection of Business and Government Practice Group. He previously led the firm’s Government Relations team and served as Partner in Charge of its Nashville office for the better part of 12 years.
Brad’s civic service includes a 2013–2018 term on the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees at the request of Governor Bill Haslam. He has served for more than 15 years on the board of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, including as chairman in 2011 and 2012 and co-chair for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 games. He also serves on the boards of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and Delta Dental of Tennessee, and chairs the board of Delta Dental’s charitable foundation, Smile 180.
At the University of Tennessee, Brad played offensive tackle for the Volunteers and was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Academic team three times. He also represented the university on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
