Overview

Angela Grewal focuses on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, representing banks and other financial institutions, commercial landlords, leasing entities, floorplan lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy cases. Her work includes disputes over adequate protection, the assumption and assignment of executory contracts, and whether agreements are true leases. She has also litigated objections to disclosure statements and proposed reorganization plans, preference and fraudulent transfer avoidance actions, and discharge and dischargeability complaints.

Angela’s bankruptcy experience extends to representing creditors serving on creditors’ committees and Chapter 11 debtors through plan confirmation. She serves as Board President of the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association.

Alongside her bankruptcy practice, Angela represents companies and businesses in commercial litigation, including commercial foreclosure actions. She also defends landlords, management companies, property owners and trucking companies against personal injury claims.

Angela served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Sandra S. Beckwith of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. In law school, she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as a fellow with the Ohio Innocence Project, where she researched and drafted motions for post-conviction relief and new trials based on newly discovered evidence or potential DNA testing for convicted people maintaining their innocence.

In the Jacksonville community, Angela is a Delores Barr Weaver Fellow with the Women’s Giving Alliance. She serves on its Advocacy Committee, which focuses on policies affecting women and girls in Northeast Florida.
