Overview
Craig Papka advises employers on workplace decisions and disputes, combining day-to-day employment counsel with representation when claims arise. He works with businesses, human resource professionals and business leaders on employee terminations, workplace investigations, ADA and FMLA compliance, and employee handbooks. His counsel also includes measures intended to reduce legal risk before a dispute develops, such as harassment prevention training programs. Craig’s approach emphasizes practical responses to workplace concerns and the resolution of conflicts with as little disruption to operations as possible.
When workplace matters become contested, Craig defends employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. His agency experience includes matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Equal Rights Division, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the National Labor Relations Board. He handles harassment, wage and discrimination claims, drawing on his advisory work to address both the immediate dispute and its effect on the employer’s workplace.
Craig works with employers in Wisconsin, Illinois and beyond. Whether a matter calls for timely advice on a developing issue, a workplace policy or training initiative, or a defense to a formal claim, his practice is focused on helping businesses manage employment-related risk and resolve workplace challenges.
