Overview

Hilary represents automotive, equipment and powersport dealers throughout New England, with a particular focus on franchise relationships and disputes with manufacturers. She advises on add points, terminations, ownership transfers and relocations, and represents clients before the Motor Vehicle Industry Board and in state and federal courts. Her work spans both the ongoing legal questions that shape dealership operations and disputes requiring formal proceedings.

Regulatory compliance is another significant part of Hilary’s dealership practice. She counsels businesses on licensing, advertising and consumer issues, as well as their obligations under state and federal laws and regulations. She also advocates for clients before the New Hampshire Department of Safety, the Banking Department and the Consumer Protection Bureau. Across these matters, her advice is informed by the client’s business needs and the legal risks at hand.

Hilary’s work extends to employment matters for dealerships and other employers. In addition to advising on workplace compliance and risk management, she provides guidance and training on harassment prevention. She also litigates commercial and real estate disputes, representing clients in state and federal courts and defending businesses in commercial and property-related matters.

Whether she is addressing a manufacturer dispute, a regulatory question or a workplace issue, Hilary works with clients to understand their operations and develop a practical course of action. Her practice combines representation in contested matters with guidance intended to help dealerships and employers manage legal challenges before they become disputes.
