Overview
Jim co-chairs Barclay Damon’s Commercial Litigation & Complex Trials Practice Area. Over 24 years of legal practice, he has handled complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts, representing individuals, businesses, municipalities, and municipal subdivisions. His work spans early-stage negotiations through heavily contested, highly public trials, including matters in which businesses or individuals face “bet-the-company” stakes. He also handles litigation involving the enforcement of noncompetition covenants, whistleblower claims, and Section 807 labor disputes.
Beyond commercial litigation, Jim’s practice includes mass tort and education law matters. He also defends high-net-worth individuals and businesses in white-collar investigations by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the US Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, state attorneys general, local district attorneys, and other state and federal agencies. His work further includes matters involving regulatory conformity.
