Overview
Nicola C. Menaldo represents companies in complex class actions involving privacy, AI and consumer data. Her privacy class action defense experience spans more than a decade and includes privacy and consumer protection claims, as well as claims under the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), California’s Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and similar state and federal laws. She helps clients across the country address questions surrounding the processing and use of consumer, user and fan data.
Alongside her litigation practice, Nicola advises clients on building, launching and implementing new technologies under federal, state and local laws governing privacy, security and AI. Her work with sports teams and entertainment companies includes identifying and addressing privacy challenges as they integrate technology into the fan experience and develop new kinds of venues. Nicola chairs Ashurst Perkins Coie’s Global Privacy Practice.
Nicola is a board member of Family Law CASA. Her pro bono practice focuses on asylum issues.
