Overview

Susan practices in Bricker Graydon Wyatt’s Litigation Group and Special Assets Resolution Group, focusing on commercial bankruptcy, loan workouts and creditors’ rights. Before joining the firm, she served as assistant vice president and counsel in the legal department of a large regional bank.

Her work on receivership law includes successfully arguing The Park National Bank v. Cattani in Ohio’s 12th District Court of Appeals. The decision confirmed a receiver’s right to sell property free and clear of liens. It also prompted Susan’s efforts as past chair of the Ohio Bar Association’s Receivership Subcommittee, which was responsible for drafting House Bill 9 to amend Ohio’s receiver laws.

Susan is a past chair of both the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Committee and the Bankruptcy Judicial Liaison Committee. She belongs to the Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Cincinnati bar associations and is active on the legislative screening committees of the Ohio and Kentucky bar associations. Beyond her practice, she serves on the board of trustees of Excel Development Co., which she has chaired for multiple terms, and co-chairs the firm’s DEI Committee.

Susan earned her J.D. with honors from Drake University Law School in 1996 and a B.A. in economics and Spanish, summa cum laude, from St. Ambrose University in 1993. She was the first person to graduate from all three of the Cincinnati USA Regional programs identified in her background: the Chamber’s C-Change Program, We Lead and Leadership Cincinnati.
